"MANY, many congratulations on such a fantastic day on Saturday.
The stalls were full of very useful and helpful information, something Wiltshire can be truly proud of is the number of active community organisations. The slogan ‘Together We Can’ is so true, and nearly always wins too. As I left, I found myself buzzing and walking on air. The whole day was stimulating, and, although we were addressing a truly important subject, the consequences of which are dire, unless urgent action is taken, I was reassured knowing that there are so many good people who are all working together to divert and do something positive. "The community day really was a joyous event. It's very easy when you're working in the climate space to feel quite alone......; Bringing together so many community groups and other organisations to share their projects, ideas, and best practice... was incredible" JG , Warminster
  • Friday 20 June - Business Day - Friday was business focused, with the emphasis on idea and experience sharing. Businesses showcased their progress and discussed their challenges. There were workshops covering different stages on the journey to net zero, and suppliers of relevant products, services and funding, to help participants to understand and get their questions answered on net zero solutions. The event was open to all businesses from Swindon and Wiltshire.

  • Saturday 21 June - Community Day - Saturday focussed on communities - bringing together members of local community and neighbourhood organisations, empowering them to share resources and approaches to accelerate their progress towards net zero. The target audience was community organisations who are already engaged in helping their neighbourhoods on the net zero journey e.g. town and parish councils, school and colleges, local eco churches, climate groups, community energy groups, environmental groups, public sector organisations.

The summit was organised by Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire Climate Alliance on a not-for-profit basis and endorsed by Swindon Borough Council. The 2025 summit is intended to be a precursor to a series of events throughout the year and a larger summit in 2026. It is designed to precipitate action on climate change though commitment, collaboration and transparency.

The events are mainly organised by volunteers but there are some administration, communication  and project management expenses as well as food to cover. There was a small charge for business day tickets, and a suggested donation for community day tickets. If you are able to make a donation to help cover the costs this would be very welcome.
