WCA Youth Conference with Councillors 22nd Feb
WCA Youth Conference with WC Councillors Monday 22nd February at 5pm
Why are we holding a Youth Climate Conference?
We have organised this conference in order to mark the second anniversary of Wiltshire Council acknowledging a climate emergency. Our Youth Group wants to provide the opportunity for young people to share their thoughts and concerns about the climate crisis and how it is being managed with local leaders. It will take place via Zoom on 22nd February at 5pm.
Which leaders have been invited?
All 96 Wiltshire councillors and 5 MPs have been invited and some have so far agreed to attend. We hope that more will register to show that they are interested in hearing what young people have to say.
How can young people get involved?
Wiltshire residents aged under 25 are invited to join us and will have the chance to give a short statement or show something creative (e.g. artwork, poetry) to express their feelings about the climate emergency. If they prefer for us to present something on their behalf, please send this to us beforehand at firstname.lastname@example.org. Young people are also welcome to join us just to listen. We would love to see you there!
What about over 25s?
Councillors/MPs and under 25's will receive links to join our Zoom meeting but other members will be able to watch the event via livestream on our Facebook on this LINK.
